As Fudan University celebrates its 120th anniversary this year, we also commemorate seventy-three springs of international engagement since welcoming our first international student in 1952. This  milestone reflects our enduring commitment to global education and cultural exchange.

The evening of April 26, 2025 witnessed a spectacular celebration of this legacy at Xianghui Hall, where the international gala brought together nearly a hundred international students and Chinese faculty in a vibrant cross-cultural performance. The event drew an audience of over 600 attendees, including university leadership, distinguished guests from Bank of China, academic representatives, alumni, and members of our global campus community.

In his opening remarks, Vice President Zhou Lei reflected on the university's role in today's interconnected world: At this time of global transformation, Fudan remains steadfast in its mission to transcend boundaries through education and bridge differences through cultural understanding. His words underscored our institution's dedication to fostering international academic collaboration.

A highlight of the evening came with the ceremonial unveiling of the Study at Fudan brand identity. Through an innovative sand-painting demonstration, university leaders joined with our partners from Bank of China to reveal the new visual representation of Fudan's global educational offerings.

The program featured insightful dialogues with distinguished international faculty members. Professor Marie Harder from Environmental Science and Professor Antonino Marciano from Physics shared poignant reflections on their experiences mentoring students across cultures, offering valuable perspectives on Fudan's growing international community.

True to the spirit of celebrating diversity while seeking common ground, the gala served as both a tribute to our shared humanity and a vision for continued global partnership. As Fudan enters its next chapter, we reaffirm our commitment to serving as a beacon of international education and cultural exchange, writing new stories of connection that will resonate for generations to come.
