Within 24 hours after moving into the apartment you will need to go through the temporary accommodation registration procedure.

Procedures:

1. Go to local police station to apply for Registration Form of Temporary Residence with your passport and lease agreement.

2. Log on to the website of Shanghai Exit-Entry Administration Corps (Website:https://gaj.sh.gov.cn/crj/homeZ). Click the button Online Application for Temporary Residence of Foreigners in Scattered Areas, sign up and fill in your accommodation information in the registration system.      Notice: During your studies in China, you must report any address changes through the same procedure within 24 hours of moving.
